Caragh Lake House an exclusive holiday rental that sits quietly on a wooded slope, where lawns meet the water and the sky opens west. Designed by local architect Harry Wallace, the house is rooted in its setting - low, linear, built of stone, and made to unite with the landscape.
Living Spaces
The house has 2 wings (Oak & Birch), each with it’s own kitchen and generous living room, offering privacy when needed. At the heart of The Oak Side, a generous oak-floored sitting room faces the lake. Five-metre glass doors open wide to the terrace and lawns. The Birch Side’s secondary living area offers a quiet counterpoint to the larger social spaces of The Oak Side.
This is a place made for gatherings. Slow mornings. Long walks. Late dinners. The pace is set by the surrounds.
Sleeping Spaces
Six bedrooms and Five bathrooms, arranged across two wings. Thoughtfully designed for rest and retreat.
Cooking & Dining Spaces
Two kitchens. One standard of quiet luxury.
Located in opposite ends of the property, both fully equipped fitted kitchens invite you to cook, gather, and linger. The Oak Side features a large kitchen-diner with separate formal dining room, and The Birch Side features an open plan kitchen-diner-living space. For those who wish to maximise their time outdoors, with a little advance notice we can arrange delicious local cuisine to be delivered.
The Grounds
The garden at Caragh Lake House unfolds gently from the house to the water’s edge. To the rear a winding driveway brings you through tall pines, rhododendrons in soft colour along stone terraces. At the foot of the garden, a private jetty reaches out into the stillness of the lake.
