Ettienne was the most responsive and attentive host we have ever experienced with AirBNB, thoughtfully meeting us at his home for a personal tour, leaving us fresh goodies in the kitchen, and arranging dinner, golf and fishing reservations. He was a message away with any questions we had or guidance we needed. We noticed and appreciated all the special touches throughout his home. Don’t miss the hike within walking from the Lake House, unbelievably stunning views at the top! We hope to someday return to CLH.

Our stay at The Caragh Lake House was nothing short of magical. It is a gem - a rare find that is luxurious and homely at the same time. No detail was missed, from the cozy fireplace to the full kitchen. There wasn’t a time I couldn’t find what I needed in the house. The house itself was spacious, spotless, and offered privacy for much needed down time. The beautiful lake views greeted us each morning. The low fog created a picturesque view. Even with all there is to do in the area, we were content staying in. Ettienne was exceptional, personalizing our stay, making sure we arrived safely, and offering recommendations. We look forward to returning again because it feels like time slows in the best possible way.

Caragh Lake House is the first place we stayed at where the house exceeded the photos. The house was gorgeous, comfortable and the lake view was incredible. Ettienne was there to meet us and made us feel at home right away. Immediately after booking he was quickly responsive to questions and had many recommendations for us. Last weekend, I stayed at Caragh Lake House with my extended family to celebrate my aunt's 60th birthday and my sister's 30th, and it was the most incredibly memorable and enjoyable getaway we have ever had! I cannot recommend this guest house enough, the house & garden were so spacious, more than enough room for our little dog to run everyday. We spent the days between the sauna and swimming/water sports in the lake and the evenings playing all the games provided. We felt so welcome and at home for the weekend, there we so many personal touches that just made this stay amazing and we now have the fondest memories to look back on. Thank you so much Ettienne for such a special getaway, we could not have hoped a more perfect place or a kinder host! We are all counting the days until we can come back.

We stayed at this guesthouse for New Year 2026 celebration and were absolutely delighted. This place is a rare find where modern comfort and nature merge into one.
What especially impressed us:
Atmosphere and coziness: The house has chic panoramic windows, through which the pine trees and lake seem part of the interior. In the evenings, we lit the firepit — it created the magical relaxing atmosphere.
Outdoors and leisure: The territory is magnificently designed with barbecue area. Sitting by the open fire in the evening viewing pine trees and the lake is a special pleasure. There is absolute silence around, disturbed only by the sounds of nature.
Attention to detail: There really is everything for comfort here; every little thing is thought out, from kitchen utensils to convenient bathroom amenities - robes, slippers and towels.
For children: There is a lot of free space for children, they were always busy with outdoor activities, including inside and outside golf.
Service: The host is very attentive and hospitable, was always in touch, and made sure our vacation was perfect.
Conclusion: After the sauna, walks by the lake, and evenings by the fireplace, we feel completely rested. I definitely recommend this place for a family vacation or a reset!

Description goes hereI have to say the Lake House and the way that Ettienne hosted and enabled our stay really exceeded my already high expectations (high as i had read previous reviews and the Lake House looked stunning in photos). We went as a group, 4x couples, and usually stay in hotels and did in fact stay in Killarney the first night. We did wonder whether we should just stick to hotels for our trip to Kerry. We thought we'd try something different for some of oir trip with the Lake House. We are now all in agreement it was the highlight by far of the trip. Truly spectacular its better than the photos. And Ettienne goes above and beyond every step of the way. Thank you so much Ettienne and all the best!

Excellent Airbnb with amazing views! Ettienne was a really great host. Great communication and he provided lots of recommendations in the area. All super helpful. The home is a good base to travel from and we got to see so much around the Iveragh (Ring of Kerry) and Dingle peninsulas. The home itself is spacious with 6 bedrooms, 4 of which are en-suite. The beds are super comfy and the bathrooms are spotlessly clean. It was nice to be able light a log fire on some of the evenings. We got to play a bit of golf in the backyard, go kayaking and enjoy the sauna too, all nice amenities. We all enjoyed playing some foosball too. Overall, a really great Airbnb, and strongly recommended. Don’t hesitate to book here!escription goes here

We were so happy to come across this property from a posting in the Irish Independent, Fab 50 Best Place to Stay 2026. From the first photo, we knew it was special. County Kerry was our last stop on a 2 week stay and this home surpassed all expectations. With a flair for gregarious hospitality, Ettienne took much pleasure touring us through with glasses of wine, beautiful charceuterie, gorgeous art and fresh flowers everywhere. We could not wait to settle on the patio and take in the incredible views to the lake and mountains. We had our best sleeps here in beautifully appointed bedrooms listening to the wind in the trees and lake waves. This is a wonderful feeling of peace at this home that put us all immediately as ease whether walking down for cocktails at the nearby inn, practicing our chips on the lawn, time in the sauna, or playing games by the fire. Suggestions for exploring the area, local shops and wonderful dining from cafes to dinner were spot on. Anyone can offer a place to stay but Ettienne and his family have created an exceptional home for any size party or season. As a family that primarily stays in private homes during travel, this is a special favorite. Thank you for a memorable visit!

Our family of 13 was looking for a large home near the Killarney area that was unique and special. Caragh Lake House exceeded every expectation.
One of our biggest concerns before arriving was transportation. Since we’re from the United States, none of us wanted to drive in Ireland. The host, Ettienne, went above and beyond to help us navigate every transportation option available. He spent time walking us through different scenarios and ultimately connected us with O’Connor’s Tours, which turned out to be absolutely fantastic. We highly recommend them.
From the moment we arrived, we knew we had found something special. Ettienne welcomed us with a beautiful charcuterie board and wine, and those first few moments walking into the home set the tone for the entire stay. Everyone was excited and looking forward to the days ahead, and that warm welcome was truly one of the highlights of our trip.
The house itself is stunning. Every room is comfortable, beautifully maintained, and thoughtfully appointed. The amenities truly have everything you could need. I was traveling with my one-year-old daughter and had simply mentioned that to Ettienne. Without us even asking, he arranged cribs, a highchair, a baby swing, and baby essentials in our room. Those thoughtful touches meant so much to us. Fresh flowers throughout the home added another level of warmth and hospitality.
The property feels wonderfully secluded, giving you the sense of having your own private luxury retreat, while still being incredibly convenient. There is plenty to do right on the property. We enjoyed access to the lake below the house, where kayaks were available, and the sauna was incredible.
There is also a beautiful hike close to the house, and getting into town was easy. We used Mid City Cabs for grocery runs and transportation, and they were always responsive, usually picking us up within 20 to 40 minutes. For anyone concerned about staying outside town without a car, it truly was not an issue.
The home is perfect for large groups. With two kitchens, there was plenty of space for everyone. The living area features large doors that open directly to the outdoors, allowing you to fully enjoy the breathtaking views. And for longer trips, having access to a washer and dryer was incredibly helpful and much appreciated by our group as we were nearing the end of our travels.
One of the highlights of our stay was having a private chef from Scallop & Spoon prepare dinner for us. Ettienne had already set the table and helped coordinate everything. It was such a special evening and one of many examples of how he elevated our experience. In fact, nearly every wonderful addition to our trip was suggested by him. He wasn’t simply a property manager—he was more like a personal travel advisor. He checked in on us throughout our stay, was always available for questions, and genuinely cared about making our trip memorable.
If you’re someone who typically prefers hotels because of the service and attention to detail, this property offers the best of both worlds. You receive that same level of hospitality and personalized care while enjoying the privacy, comfort, and space of a luxury vacation home.
Our family had been looking forward to this part of our trip for months, and it ended up being one of our favorite experiences in Ireland. We made memories here that will last a lifetime. I cannot say enough about how grateful we are to Ettienne for his hospitality and kindness.
